Jimin'S POV
I woke up feeling tired.
My eyes slowly opened, and for a second I didn't move. The blanket was tucked tightly around me, I felt so warm.
Then it hit me..I was naked, completely naked.
The first thing I did was look to my side, It was empty.
Yoongi is not here? So we really did that yesterday?
I blinked at the ceiling.
I pulled the blanket up to my face dramatically. "My life is not less than a romantic novel." But my lips still remembered, my neck still felt sensitive, and my body...
I sat up slowly, the blanket sliding down, and I stared at the messy bed.
We slept here. We slept together.
That thought made something shift inside me and now he's gone from beside me.
Why does that make me feel weirdly disappointed?
I shook my head and got up.
I wore my clothes quickly, trying not to think about last night too much, but my brain doesn't listen to me these days.
It replayed small flashes.
His laugh.
The way he brushed my hair back, the way he kept looking at me like I was fragile.
The way he said, "I'm just yours, Jimin. "
Why does that feel so romantic?
I opened the bedroom door and walked out and there he was.
In the kitchen. He was shirtless. i stared at him, he was cooking something.
So husband material. Like this is his daily routine.
The morning light from the window was falling on his back, highlighting every line of muscle. His hair was slightly messy, tied in a half bun, leaving a few strands on his cheeks. He looked focused while flipping something in the pan.
I froze at the entrance.
He turned his head slightly and noticed me. A slow smile appeared on his face. "Morning, Jimin," he said casually.
Why does he look so fucking hot.
"Why are you shirtless in my kitchen?" I asked immediately.
He looked down at himself. "Why not?"
"Because normal people wear clothes."
"You didn't complain last night," he replied smoothly.
I choked.
"Shut up," I muttered, walking toward the dining table.
He laughed softly. That laugh. It feels like I've heard it a thousand times before.
"You slept like a baby," he said while plating the food.
"Did I?" I asked.
"Mhm. Sometimes I get the cutest aggression when I look at you."
Always. He keeps saying things like that. Like he knows every version of me.
I sat down and watched him move around.
He didn't look like a stranger. He looked like someone who had been here for years, and that scared me.
"Do you cook often?" I asked.
"For you? Yes."
I rolled my eyes. "You think you're good at flirting?"
He smiled, looking at me. "Not just cooking... but many things. For example, yesterday-"
I glared at him.
He shut his mouth.
He brought the plate and placed it in front of me carefully.
"Eat," he said softly.
I looked at the food, then at him.
"Why are you doing all this?" I asked quietly.
He didn't answer immediately.
Instead, he leaned slightly against the counter, watching me. "Because I love doing it for you," he finally said.
My chest tightened again.
Three years.
Those missing years.
Why i forgot?
Last night we talked too. Not just... that. We talked about random things.
About how I used to steal fries from his plate. About how I hated when he left the lights on. About how I would fall asleep on his shoulder while watching movies.
Those were all very small things but also domestic. Everything he told didn't feel fake, instend i felt pity on myself that i don't remember all this.
Sometimes I feel - well, this is my own theory about my life, okay, I feel like he was the cat from the beginning. Maybe he used to turn into a human sometimes.
This is all I can think.
I swallowed. "I have office today," I said suddenly.
He tilted his head slightly. "Already running away?"
"I'm not running," I replied. "I have responsibilities. Bills. Adult life."
He smiled softly. "You used to complain about office too."
"Stop saying 'used to' like you own my past," I snapped a little.
He didn't react badly. Instead, he walked closer and placed his hand gently on the table beside mine.
"I don't own your past," he said calmly. "I was just part of it."
That line hit harder than I expected.
I looked at him.
Why does my heart feel calm around him?
Why does my brain scream confusion but my body feels safe?
"Will you be here when I come back?" I asked before I could stop myself.
He smiled softly.
"I was always here, Jimin."
That answer again.
I stood up.
"Don't touch my stuff," I said, trying to sound strict.
He stepped closer slightly. "You like when I touch your stuff... and you."
I glared at him. This time holding a knife.
He smirked.
God.
This man is dangerous for my mental stability.
I grabbed my bag and walked toward the doornd for a second... I felt something.
Like I was leaving someone important behind.
Why does it feel like I've done this before?
And why does it feel like last time...
__
I arrived at the office and everything was... usual.
Like nothing in my life is falling apart.
Like I didn't just find out I forgot two to three years of my own existence.
People were typing. Phones were ringing. Someone was arguing about a deadline.
Everything normal.
I sat at my desk pretending to work, staring at the screen while the same email stayed open for ten minutes.
I didn't even create the dashboard I was told to.
My brain wasn't processing anything.
Delete-delete.
Like clearing storage, right? Maybe my brain cleared important files and kept random nonsense. Like song lyrics from 2016 Or trauma.
By lunch break, I was mentally tired from doing absolutely nothing.
Taehyung appeared near my desk and tapped it lightly. "Lunch," he said.
I looked up at him. He had a big smile on his face. Like he was in love with me.
Ew.
"I'm not dying," I said.
"I didn't say you were."
"But you're looking at me like I'm about to faint."
He sighed. "Just come."
We walked to the cafeteria together.
The office cafeteria was loud like always... people talking, trays clattering, someone laughing too loudly at a joke that probably wasn't even funny.
Some bitching. Some judging. Same things me and Taehyung do.
Normal world.
Meanwhile, my life is a psychological thriller.
We took our trays and sat in our usual corner.
Taehyung didn't start eating immediately. He was watching me again.
There was only one cold coffee on the table because Taehyung hates coffee and says it smells like "burnt sadness."
"What?" I asked, opening my food.
"Are you overthinking?" he asked directly.
"No."
He raised his eyebrow.
"Okay. Maybe a little."
"Jimin," he said seriously, leaning forward slightly. "The doctor told you not to pressure yourself. Don't try to force your brain to remember. Let it happen naturally."
"I'm not forcing," I muttered.
"You are," he said calmly. "I know you."
I poked my food with a fork. "It's hard not to."
"I know."
His voice softened. "You've been fine for three years. Don't let this suddenly control you," he added.
Three years. Those missing three years.
I hesitated.
"Taehyung," I said slowly.
"Hmm?"
"My cat disappeared."
He blinked. "What?"
"Three days ago," I continued. "Just after he scratched you."
Taehyung paused mid-bite. "Oh."
"Yeah. Oh," I repeated. "Isn't that weird?"
He wiped his mouth and leaned back in his chair. "Maybe he got scared."
"Scared of what?"
"Of me," he said casually.
I stared at him. "Excuse me?"
"You know your cat never liked me."
"That's because you annoy everyone."
"No," he said, more serious now. "Even before the accident."
I frowned. "What do you mean?"
"I think it's the same cat you had before," he said.
My fork froze mid-air.
"You really think it's the same?"
"Your old cat," he continued. "he also had Yellow eyes. Same attitude. Same possessiveness and main thing he was male cat too."
My heart started beating faster.
"Taehyung..."
"Jimin, that cat hated me," he said, almost laughing at the memory. "From day one. Because I was close to you since school."
I swallowed.
"He never let anyone come near you," Taehyung added. "Not even me. He used to glare at me like I was stealing you."
The cafeteria noise faded for a second.
Same yellow eyes, same jealousy, same possessiveness.
"You're overreacting," Taehyung said quickly when he noticed my expression. "Cats act like that. They get attached."
"Three years ago he ran away," I said quietly.
"Yeah," Taehyung nodded. "You were heartbroken. You didn't show it much, but I know you. You stopped talking about him. Then you stopped liking cats in general."
My chest felt tight.
"And now this one disappeared too?" he added gently. "Maybe he'll come back. Cats do that. They wander."
"But the timing..." I whispered.
I looked down at my tray, but I wasn't seeing it anymore. My mind was connecting everything.
Min disappears. Yoongi appears.
Old cat with yellow eyes. New cat with yellow eyes.
Possessive. Jealous.
Never letting anyone close to me.
Even Taehyung.
"Jimin," Taehyung called my name softly.
I looked at him.
"You're not alone in this," he said. "Whatever you forgot... whatever you're confused about... I'm here. Just don't push yourself."
I nodded slowly but inside...My brain was screaming because what if I'm not overthinking?
What if everything is connected? and what if.. The thing I'm trying to remember...is already living in my house?
I picked up my fork again, pretending to eat.
But I couldn't taste anything anymore.
__
By the time evening came, my head was hurting.
Work felt endless. The screen light was stabbing my eyes. Numbers were blending together. Emails looked like coded messages.
Taehyung kept checking on me like I was some fragile glass piece about to crack.
Maybe I am. Maybe I've been cracked for three years and no one told me.
I drove back home in silence.
No music. Which is weird because I always need music. I can't drive without it. My car usually feels empty without background noise.
Today it felt fitting. I wasn't overthinking either.
Okay, maybe a little overthinking. Fine. A lot.
When I reached home, I stood outside the door for a second.
My hand hovered over the handle.
Why does coming home feel like walking into a mystery now?
This is my house.
So why does it feel like something inside is waiting for me?
I unlocked the door and pushed it open.
And what I saw made my brain stop working.
My cat.
He was sitting on the floor.
Right there.
Looking at me.
His yellow eyes glowing under the dim light. Unblinking.
He looked at me like... like he never disappeared.
Like these three days never happened. Like I was the one who left.
I froze.
"What-"
My heart started racing so fast it actually hurt.
Three days gone with no trance of Min and now he's just... here?
I dropped my bag slowly. It slipped from my fingers and hit the floor with a dull sound that felt too loud in the quiet house.
"Min?" I whispered.
My voice sounded small.
He didn't move from his place, he just stared at me.
He Just kept watching me and my mind immediately jumped to one insane conclusion.
Did Yoongi turn into a cat again? Or did my cat turn into Yoongi?
Because if this is some shapeshifting situation, I'm done. I resign from reality. I didn't sign up for fantasy genre.
I took one slow step inside.
My legs felt weak.
The cat didn't move.
He just kept watching me like he was waiting for something.
Then.. Footsteps. I heard From the bedroom.
My entire body stiffened. As soon as I heard the sound of movement... a voice.
I slowly lifted my head.
And there he was.
Yoongi.
Walking toward me.
My eyes went from him...
To the cat...back to him, back to the cat.
My brain short-circuited.
They were both there At the same time. Means...
Yoongi isn't the cat?
Then what the hell is happening?
The cat suddenly stood up, stretching lazily, like this is a normal evening. Like he didn't just reappear from thin air and ruin my mental stability.
He calmly walked past me toward the living room.
His tail brushed lightly against my leg.
I felt it. I felt is touch.
Yoongi stopped a few steps away from me.
"You're home," he said softly.
Like nothing was wrong.
Like this is normal.
I couldn't answer.
My throat felt tight.
I was still staring at him like I had just seen two parallel universes collide inside my hallway.
If Yoongi isn't Min...
Then why do they have the same eyes?
Why the same behavior?
Why the same possessiveness?
Why did one appear when the other disappeared?
Why do they both look at me like I belong to them?
My heartbeat was so loud in my ears I could barely hear anything else.
"Yoongi..." I said slowly.
Even saying his name felt strange.
He tilted his head slightly.
"Yes, Jimin?"
I looked toward the hallway where my cat had disappeared, then back at him.
My vision felt slightly blurry.
My hands were shaking now.
My mind was running in circles, faster and faster, like it was trying to solve a puzzle but all the pieces were wrong shapes.
Means...
Yoongi isn't the cat.
Then? Then what? Then who was sleeping next to me?
Who have I been trusting?
Who knows my past?
Who keeps saying he was always here?
My breathing turned uneven.
The walls suddenly felt closer.
The air felt like It'll swollow me.
My whole body trembled, and for a second I genuinely thought I might faint.
Because this isn't normal.
None of this is normal.
And I don't know which reality is worse.
The one where Yoongi is my cat Or the one where he isn't.
Or he is some kind of spirit?
