YOONGI'S POV
Namjoon hyung dropped me just outside the house.
The car stopped near the gate and for a few seconds I stayed sitting quietly, my hand still resting on the seatbelt while my thoughts were somewhere else completely.
Honestly, I still felt a little disappointed. Not because Namjoon hyung came. But because Jimin didn't.
I know he is doctor. I know hospital work is important. Emergencies can happen anytime.
Still... after he said he would wait for me outside the exam hall, some part of me actually believed him so easily that now this small change was bothering me more than it should.
I hate being this sensitive.
"Come in," I said politely while getting out of the car, trying to sound normal and not rude.
Namjoon hyung smiled lightly and shook his head.
"No, I need to go back to the hospital," he replied. "I only came to pick you up."
I nodded immediately.
"Thank you," I told him sincerely.
Even if I was disappointed, it wasn't his fault.
He still came all the way here because Jimin asked him to.
Namjoon hyung waved once before driving away, and I stood there for few seconds looking at the road quietly before finally entering inside the house.
The moment I stepped in, I fixed my expression automatically.
Years of pretending everything is okay became habit now.
Even when my mind is messy, my face usually stays normal.
Emmoaa was sitting in the living room folding clothes neatly when she noticed me entering.
Her face brightened immediately.
"Yoongi," she called warmly, "how was your exam?"
I gave her a small smile while putting my bag down near the couch.
"Amazing," I answered honestly.
And it really was amazing.
For the first time in so long, I came out of exam hall feeling confident instead of scared.
The moment I said that, Jungkook suddenly came rushing out of his room like he was waiting for me only.
"HYUNGGGG!"
I looked at him and almost laughed seeing his expression.
He looked more excited than me.
"How was your exam?" he asked quickly while running towards me with wide eyes. "Did you attempt all the questions?"
He stopped right in front of me, looking genuinely curious and excited.
"It was awesome," I admitted while smiling properly now. "And surprisingly easy too."
"Really?"
I nodded immediately.
"I was worrying for nothing," I said while shaking my head lightly. "I revised so much that almost everything felt familiar. I think... I can actually make it."
The moment those words left my mouth, Jungkook looked genuinely proud.
Before I could react properly, he suddenly hugged me tightly.
"I told you!" he said dramatically. "My hyung is smart."
I laughed softly and hugged him back.
"You sound like you raised me yourself."
"Maybe I did."
"Shut up."
He laughed loudly while pulling away from the hug.
Then suddenly his eyes moved behind me towards the door.
"Where is Jimin?" he asked while looking around. "He came to pick you, right?"
That small heaviness inside me returned again quietly.
I adjusted my sleeve before answering casually.
"He said he would," I replied. "But maybe some work came up, so he sent Namjoon hyung instead."
Jungkook nodded without thinking much about it.
"Oh, okay."
"Anyway," he said while stretching his arms lazily, "now go get some rest. You were studying like crazy these past weeks."
I nodded slowly at his words.
Now that the exam was finally over, my whole body suddenly felt exhausted properly.
Like stress was the only thing keeping me awake till now.
But even while standing there...
One thought still stayed in my mind quietly.
When will Jimin come home?
The whole day passed slowly, but Jimin still didn't come home.
At first I didn't think much about it because hospital work was never fixed. Sometimes he came early, sometimes late, and sometimes he barely even sat down properly before another call came. I already understood that much after living with him for some time.
But still...
I kept noticing the time again and again.
While eating dinner, Emmoaa casually told me, "Jimin said he'll come late today. He already ate at the hospital with his friends."
I just nodded quietly and continued eating.
I didn't even know why hearing that made me lose my appetite a little.
Did I even have the right to feel disappointed?
He already did enough for me.
And it's not like he needed to tell me every single thing.
Still, after dinner, when I came back to the room, my eyes automatically kept going towards my phone.
Right now it was already ten.
I was sitting on the bed with my phone in my hand, staring at his contact for almost five minutes straight.
Should I call him?
What if he is busy?
What if I disturb him?
What if he finds it annoying?
I sighed and threw myself back on the bed dramatically.
Why am I even overthinking like this?
Before I could decide anything, I suddenly heard footsteps outside the room.
Then the door opened.
I immediately sat up straight.
Jimin walked inside.
The moment I saw him properly, my chest tightened a little.
He looked exhausted.
His eyes looked hollow with dark circles under them, his hair messy, his shoulders slightly slouched like all the energy had left his body already. Even the way he walked looked tired.
He closed the door behind him and the first thing he said was,
"Sorry for not coming to pick you. Actually, I got some work and Namjoon hyung already had work on the way, so I told him to pick you up."
He explained it immediately like he was worried I misunderstood.
And honestly... that small thing itself made my mood better.
"It's totally okay, Jimin," I told him softly.
He let out a tired breath before rubbing his face lightly.
"I'll take a shower first, then I'll talk to you," he said while grabbing a towel from the chair.
I nodded.
The moment he disappeared into the bathroom, I stared at the closed door for no reason.
Why does this room feel empty when he's not here?
I waited quietly while hearing the sound of water from inside.
Then after some minutes, the bathroom door suddenly opened.
And my brain stopped working.
Jimin walked out only wearing a towel around his waist.
Water was still dripping from his wet hair down his neck, his skin slightly red from hot water, and before I could even process anything, I looked down immediately.
Why he have to come out like this?
My ears literally felt hot.
Then like an idiot, I looked up again.
Jimin froze too.
"Ah-" he looked embarrassed suddenly. "I forgot to take clothes."
He quickly grabbed his clothes from the chair beside me and almost ran back into the bathroom again.
The door closed loudly.
And I ended up laughing quietly to myself.
Cute.
After a few minutes, he finally came out again properly dressed in a black t-shirt and grey night pants.
This time he looked less embarrassed.
He walked towards the bed and sat beside me, stretching his neck tiredly.
"How was your exam?" he asked.
The moment he asked that, I immediately got excited again.
I don't know why talking to him about things always makes me feel strangely happy.
"It was amazing," I told him quickly. "I attempted all the questions, and thanks to you because everything you taught was there."
His tired face instantly looked proud.
"Now see, kid. I'm intelligent."
I stared at him.
Kid??
Really??
I'm literally his husband.
But then again...
Only he is allowed to call me that.
I tried hiding my smile.
"I hope I get a good university," I said while looking at him properly this time.
"You will," he answered immediately without even thinking twice.
Like he had more confidence in me than I had in myself.
Then silence filled the room softly.
I kept looking at his face while he looked half dead from tiredness.
Without even realizing properly, I lifted my hand and cupped his cheek gently.
His skin felt warm.
He looked at me immediately, surprised.
"You look so tired..." I said quietly while looking directly into his eyes. "You should sleep."
For one second he just stared at me.
Then suddenly he got up dramatically and laid flat on the bed immediately, making me blink.
My hand was still hanging in the air.
"I'm sleeping," he mumbled tiredly.
I laughed softly.
Then he pointed at me without even opening his eyes properly.
"You also sleep. I know you don't have to study at least until results come out, but you still have exercise tomorrow."
I rolled my eyes immediately.
"Can we skip one day?"
"No."
AUTHORS POV
Early in the morning, while the whole house was half asleep, Yoongi and Jimin were already on the third floor inside the small gym room.
Jimin stood in front of him with his arms crossed like some strict trainer instead of a doctor.
"Do fifty squats," Jimin ordered seriously.
Yoongi stared at him in disbelief immediately.
"Isn't that too much?" he complained with an offended expression.
But even while complaining, he still adjusted his posture properly because both of them already knew he was going to do it anyway. Jimin had somehow mastered the art of making Yoongi obey without forcing much.
Jimin ignored the complaint completely.
"One."
Yoongi slowly bent his knees.
"Two."
"Don't you want to be healthy?" Jimin asked while still counting calmly.
"Of course I want to be healthy," Yoongi replied dramatically while coming back up again, "but we can stay healthy by eating good food too."
"Three."
"Four."
"No," Jimin argued immediately, looking completely serious about this topic as always. "Good exercise is also needed."
"Five."
Yoongi let out a tired groan already.
"Are you gym trainer as part time?."
"I'm not but i see you are lazy."
"I am lazy."
"I know."
Yoongi looked offended again while continuing the squats.
The counting kept going while Yoongi became more and more dramatic with every number. By the time they reached thirty, he was already breathing loudly on purpose just so Jimin would feel bad for him.
Jimin did not feel bad at all.
"Forty nine."
"Fifty."
The moment Jimin counted the last one, Yoongi immediately dropped himself dramatically on the exercise mat like his soul left his body.
"Finally," he breathed out exaggeratedly while staring at the ceiling.
His chest was rising up and down quickly while he tried catching his breath properly.
Jimin looked down at him and shook his head.
"Tired already?" he asked with amusement. "I was thinking to increase twenty more every day."
Yoongi's eyes snapped open immediately.
"No way. I'll die."
"You won't die."
"I definitely will."
Jimin laughed quietly before sitting down beside him on the mat.
Since they were finally done, Jimin casually pulled out his phone like it became a habit now whenever they rested after exercise. He leaned slightly back against the wall while scrolling through reels mindlessly.
Suddenly he stopped on one video.
"This is the dream body I want," Jimin said while looking at the screen.
Yoongi immediately got curious.
He slowly lifted himself up on his elbows and leaned closer to peek at Jimin's phone. The reel showed some random gym influencer flexing his muscles confidently in front of the mirror while dramatic music played in the background.
He kept staring at the screen silently.
And after noticing properly, he realized Jimin's whole feed was literally filled with this type of content. Gym videos. Workout routines. Fitness influencers. Bodybuilding clips. Random doctor vlogs mixed in between.
Yoongi suddenly felt strangely alert.
"So... you like well-built bodies?" he asked casually while pretending he absolutely did not care.
Meanwhile internally he cared too much.
Jimin looked at him like the answer was obvious.
"Who doesn't like?"
Yoongi sat properly now, trying to act normal while secretly paying full attention to everything on that phone.
Then Jimin opened another post.
And this time Yoongi immediately recognized the account.
Namjoon.
It was a recently uploaded gym video. Namjoon was doing pull-ups and the video was filmed from behind, showing his broad back and visible muscles clearly through the sleeveless shirt.
Even Yoongi had to admit it looked impressive.
Especially considering Namjoon was a doctor and still somehow managed studies, shifts, work, and a body like that.
Then Yoongi watched Jimin press the like button.
And after that..
He opened the comment section.
Yoongi instantly felt irritation crawl inside him again.
Why he need to comment too??
His jaw tightened slightly without him realizing.
Before Jimin could type anything, Yoongi suddenly spoke.
"What's your ID?"
Jimin looked confused for a second.
"My ID?"
"Instagram."
"Oh."
Jimin blinked once before laughing lightly.
"We never exchanged IDs till now?"
Yoongi realized it too.
Somehow they lived in the same room, slept beside each other, studied together, exercised together, but never followed each other online.
That felt strangely funny.
Jimin unlocked his phone and showed him his account.
Yoongi immediately searched it from his own phone and followed him.
A second later, Jimin followed back too.
And while looking at Jimin's account once again, especially the type of bodies Jimin kept liking...
Yoongi silently made up his mind.
He was going to build a body exactly like Jimin liked.
No matter how much he hated exercise.
The same afternoon, Yoongi and Jungkook left together for basketball practice like always.
The house became unusually quiet after they left. Mrs. Park had gone outside for some work nearby, Jungkook was out, Yoongi was out too, and for the first time in days, Jimin actually had no hospital shift.
A completely free day Which honestly almost never happened.
At first he thought maybe he should sleep for some time because of how exhausted he had been lately, but the moment he entered the bedroom properly and looked around, another urge appeared immediately.
Cleaning.
Jimin was the type of person who could not relax peacefully if things around him looked messy. Especially after living with two boys who somehow managed to create chaos without even trying.
So instead of resting, he tied his sleeves slightly and started cleaning the room.
Music was softly playing from his phone while he moved around naturally.
First he fixed the bed properly because Yoongi always left the blanket half folded no matter how many times Jimin told him not to. Then he picked up clothes scattered on the chair and separated them neatly.
"These boy..." he muttered under his breath while folding another hoodie.
Still, there was a small smile on his face.
He arranged his own clothes first, then Yoongi's clothes beside them properly inside the cupboard. While folding one of Yoongi's oversized hoodies, he suddenly paused for a second.
It still felt strange sometimes.
Sharing room. Sharing space. Living with someone. But strangely... He didn't dislike it at all. Actually, he had gotten used to Yoongi's presence very quickly.
Jimin pushed the thought away and continued cleaning.
After finishing most of the room, his eyes finally landed on Yoongi's study desk.
Books everywhere. Half-open notebooks. Pens lying randomly. Sticky notes inside pages.
Jimin sighed dramatically.
"How does he even study like this?"
Still, he walked there and started arranging everything patiently.
He stacked the books according to subjects, kept notebooks on one side, placed loose papers together properly, and pushed all the pens inside the pouch neatly.
While lifting one notebook, something suddenly slipped slightly from underneath.
A folded paper.
Jimin frowned a little.
"What's this?"
Absentmindedly, he picked it up.
At first he thought maybe it was some old notes or rough paper, but the moment he unfolded it slightly, his expression slowly changed.
His eyes moved across the first few lines.
And then stopped completely. His heartbeat dropped.
It wasn't notes.
No...
A suicide note.
Jimin stared at the page silently, almost unable to process it properly at first.
His fingers tightened around the paper unconsciously.
Then his eyes slowly moved toward the date written on the top corner.
One years ago.
